Delay Office Pro Plus Updates using Intune
I am assuming that you have your Office Pro Plus set to obtain updates from the CDN also known as the Content Delivery Network. In this case the normal behaviour is to receive the latest update for your channel i.e. Monthly or Semi-Annual Channel. In this post I am going to show you how to create an Intune Policy to set a target version for Office Pro Plus which can be useful when your require greater control over which version you want to release to your clients.
- Navigate to Intune (https://aka.ms/intuneportal)
- Click on the Device Configuration Blade
- Click on Profiles
- Create a New Profile
- Enter a Name
- Choose Platform: Windows 10 and Later
- Profile Type: Administrative Templates (Preview)
- Click Create
- Click on Settings
- Search for “Target Version”
- Click on the Target Version setting
- Choose Enable
- Enter the Version which you would like to be released i.e. 11328.20158

- Assign the Policy to the group of your choice
- You can Monitor the progress of your Policy from the Intune Portal
- Once the Policy has succeeded you can also look at the registry value for updatetargetversion which should match the build you entered in the policy.
